I truly believe there's a strong correlation between how much a woman says "I'm sorry" and whether or not she has tolerated sexual harassment or abuse for a long time.

I used to proofread deposition transcripts. Every so often I'd get a sexual harassment or abuse case. The plaintiffs had a tendency to keep saying "I'm sorry" throughout the deposition, over the littlest things, such as if the attorney asked them to speak a little louder so the court reporter could hear better, the plaintiff would say, "I'm sorry."

Something's definitely up when a woman repeatedly apologizes. However....we shouldn't assume this behavior is limited to women. I once knew a 12-year-old boy who couldn't stop apologizing. I wonder what made him think he was such a big goof-up.
